In Puerto Rico we generate an average of 3 pounds of waste per person per day and about 4 billion pounds of waste per year. Only 11% of which is recycled and used for more than half of the materials reaching the dump is compostable organic material. Composting is a simple way to add nutrient-rich humus which fuels plant growth and restores vitality to depleted soil.. The process of composting simply requires making a heap of wetted organic matter and waiting for the materials to break down into humus after a period of weeks or months. It's also free, easy to make and good for the environment.Exist many types of compost like: Vermicomposting, this one is the most easy way to compost food because the worms make it easier. Another type is Aerobic Composting,in this one you make compost with high temperatures. The last type is Anaerobic Compost this one is make without air and does not need maintenance.
